TALK IT OVER

Week of June 7, 2026

Main Passage: Mark 2:18-22
What is one observation you make on the passage this week?

In Mark 2, Jesus doesn't say if you fast, He says when the bridegroom is gone, they will fast. What does it mean to you personally that Jesus assumed His followers would fast?

Have you ever fasted before? What was that experience like? If you haven't, what has held you back?

Have you ever experienced a time when fasting deepened your prayer life? What was different during that time?

Is your current prayer life non-existant, more of a routine or a genuine expression of hunger for God?

Is there an area of your life where you might be trying to put "new wine into old wineskins" holding onto old patterns that are resistant to what God is doing?

If your life group committed to fast together with a specific prayer focus, what would you want to pray for?
