TALK IT OVER

Week of April 19, 2026

Main Passage: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

What about your schedule stresses you out the most?

Examine and share about why you are so busy and/or bored.

Considering the difference between discipline (self-control) and impulsivity, in what areas of your life are you more disciplined, or more impulsive?

In regards to impulsivity with time, do you engage in any of the descriptions giving by Pastor Ian: procrastinate, doom scroll, change plans suddenly, or have an inflated sense of urgency?

Pastor Ian gave four ways to move from impulsivity to discipline: see each day as a gift from God, commit our time to God, set aside time for God and others, and take time for our own needs/rest. Which of these do you need to start doing or do more consistently?

Spend time on your own, OUTSIDE OF LIFE GROUP, reading and reflecting on these verses pertaining to time:

  • James 1:13-14

  • Ephesians 5:15-16

  • James 4:13-14

  • Romans 14:11-12

  • Psalm 31:14-15

  • Psalm 90:12

  • Matthew 6:33

  • Mark 6:30-32

Share with your group which verse or verses had particular meaning to you.

How can you better honor God with your time and resources?

Are you using your time as God would have you use it? Why or why not?

If you were told today that you had 30 days to live, how would you live differently in regards to your time and finances?
